Ingredients:
  • 2 Tbsp Oil
  • 1 Onion (peeled and diced)
  • 500 gm (~1 lb) Prawns (peeled)
  • 4 cloves Garlic (peeled and crushed)
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Curry powder
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Chili powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp Turmeric
  • 160 ml (1/3 pt) Coconut milk (or water)
  • 2-3 Green chilies (seeded and very finely chopped)
  • 2-3 sprigs Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • 1-2 Tomatoes (sliced)
  • Salt
  • Lemon juice

Method:
  1. Heat the oil in a pan and gently fry the onion until tender
  2. Add the prawns and continue frying until dry
  3. Add the garlic, curry powder, chili powder and turmeric, stir well and fry for 30 seconds
  4. Add salt and the water and cover and cook gently for 10-15 minutes until dry
  5. Garnish with the chopped chili and coriander leaves, sprinkle with lemon juice to taste and arrange the tomato slices on top
  6. Serve as a side dish with both rice and bread
