Chinese dishes such as this are very popular in Cmbodia. They are quick to prepare and nourishing. Khmer dishes are very intensive on preparation and delectable. The convenience for the food preparer plus the large immigrant Chinese population has certainly well rooted many Chinese style food preps.



Ingredients
  • 225 gm (½ lb.) Lean beef, thinly sliced
  • 450 gm (1 lb.) Chinese broccoli. Separate the stems and leaves, chopped
  • 2 Cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 Tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 Tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • ½ Tablespoon cornstarch
  • 60 ml (¼ Cup) of water
  • ¼ Teaspoon black pepper
Method:
  1. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water, oyster sauce, fish sauce and sugar. Set aside.
  2. Mix the meat with garlic, and soy sauce in another small bowl. Set aside.
  3. Heat up a wok or skillet on high temperature with some oil. 
  4. Sauté onion, broccoli stems and beef. Stir well. Add Chinese broccoli leaves. Stir and cover with lid for a few minutes.
  5. Pour the mixed sauce over. Cook and stir until the sauce thickens. Sprinkle with black pepper. Serve with rice.
