Ingredients:

Main:
  • 225 g (8 oz) self-raising flour
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter
  • 340 ml (12 fl oz) milk

Topping:
  • 115 g (4 oz) roasted groundnuts
  • 60 g (2 oz) roasted sesame seeds
  • 115 g (4 oz) butter
  • 60 g (2 oz) castor sugar
    

Method:

  1. Mix flour, sugar and salt.
  2. Beat egg and blend with melted butter and milk.
  3. Make a hollow in the flour and pour in mixture, a little at a time. Mix with flour to form a smooth batter. Allow to leaven for 2 - 3 hours.
