Delightfully served as a canapé on a slice of orange.

This recipe is most enjoyed using a larger shrimp like "Tiger Prawns"

  • 250 grams frozen or fresh shrimp (peeled)
  • 1 spring onion (chopped into 1 cm pieces)
  • 1 red chillie (seeded and chopped)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1 clove of garlic (crushed)
  • 200 g pineapple (chopped into small blocks)
  • 4 tablespoons sweet & sour sauce
  • 4 tsp cooking oil
  • ½ tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 50 ml water
  • 1 tsp corn flour ( dissolved in a small amount of water)
  1. Heat cooking oil in a pan until medium heat, add garlic and onion and stir until fragrant.
  2. Add chilly and the peeled shrimp into the pan and stir-fry until the color of the shrimp changes (they become pink).
  3. Add pineapple, sauce, water, salt, pepper and sugar. When it is boiling add the dispersed corn flour, stir it evenly until the sauce thickens a bit.
